Plasma Nitriding

MTV’s experience in Plasma Nitriding covers the last 28 years. With the most technically advanced, computer controlled equipment available today to consistently produce controlled product.

Midwest Thermal-Vac will virtually eliminate part distortion or size change while providing these Metallurgical advantages:

 

   q       Extremely high surface hardness and thus excellent wear-resistance.

   q       Reduced friction.. the lowest coefficient of friction between two steels

   q       Tensile strength  and resistance to fatigue are increased as much as 20% - to 45 %

   q       Excellent surface finish… non-porous and abrasion resistant.

   q       Much improved resistance too corrosion for most metals

   q       No distortion through processing.*

             q  Plasma Nitriding is available at temperatures as low as 750F

                      and up to and over 1000F.

   q       Weld ability maintained common welding 

                      procedures can be used.

   q       Heat treat resistance up to 590º F without 

                      impact on hardness properties.

   q       Low friction characteristics may save 

                      lubricants and eliminating manganese 

                      Phosphating where components are 

                      used under constant abrasion.
